Twenty-four students graduated with Bachelor of Science (BSN) degrees in nursing from St. John’s College of Nursing on Friday, May 12, 2023. The Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement was held at Christ the King Parish in Springfield, Illinois.

“We are adding more talented, caring and bright BSN-level nurses to the field today,” said Charlene Aaron, PhD, RN, chancellor of St. John’s College. “These graduates will help many patients and families. We wish them well as they grow in their careers.”
The commencement speaker was the Executive Director of Diversity Initiatives for SIU System and Special Projects Advisor for SIU School of Medicine’s Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Dr. Wesley Robinson-McNeese, retired emergency physician.
HSHS St. John’s Hospital will employ 17 of the students from this graduating class, and HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital in Shelbyville, Ill. Will employ one. The college’s partnership with St. John’s enables students to gain hands-on experience and familiarity with hospital staff and procedures. The college offers a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to BSN program, registered nurse (RN) to BSN online program, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.
