Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS), a leading Catholic health ministry with operations in Illinois and Wisconsin, announced today that Michelle Wieczorek has been named HSHS System Director of Accountable Care, effective Jan. 19.

Wieczorek is currently the interim HSHS System Director for Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) since spring 2024 and will retain these responsibilities as well. In this expanded role, Wieczorek will partner with Dr. James Bock, HSHS Chief Medical Officer for Physician Enterprise, to drive performance and engagement across the patient care continuum for accountable care, value-based care and population health through the system’s accountable care structures and payment models.

Wieczorek joined HSHS in April 2024 as interim System Director for CDI, following her role as Senior Vice President of Coding and Clinical Integrity Practice at CSI Companies in Jacksonville, Florida. She is an innovative health care executive leader with 14 years of experience in various CDI and revenue cycle leadership roles at various companies. Prior to returning to working exclusively with providers, she led large risk adjustment operations for payers, technology vendors, and Accountable Care Organizations (ACO).  She was also the lead clinical subject matter expert for the alternative payment model team at Forvis, supporting two of the largest ACO’s in the country executing strategies for Medicare Advantage, Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), the Medicare Shared Savings Program, Bundled Payments for Care Improvement Advanced (BPCI-A) and the Oncology Care Model.
