HSHS and Aetna Illinois Update

To our valued Aetna patients in Illinois, 

We are pleased to share HSHS has reached a tentative agreement with Illinois Aetna and will not terminate on July 1, 2024. This agreement includes all nine HSHS Illinois hospitals, Prairie Cardiovascular and HSHS Medical Group. The negotiation between HSHS and Aetna will be finalized, and there will be no disruption in care.

These types of negotiations can be complex and often create uncertainty for patients and providers. HSHS is committed to providing high-quality care for the residents of Illinois, and we appreciate our patients, colleagues and provider partners’ support and patience during this process.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Aetna members who choose to receive care from HSHS hospitals, HSHS Medical Group and Prairie Cardiovascular.
