When it happens to your child, the effects can be mixed – sometimes it’s a dull ache, other times it causes a persistent issue that affects your child at home and at school.
If your child has suffered a concussion, visit the expert health care team at HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital to treat the initial injury. After your hospital visit, you’ll be referred to the Prevea Concussion Clinic. The credentialed ImPact™ concussion consultants and board-certified Primary Care Sports Medicine physicians will evaluate your child’s cognitive functions and make sure your child is physically ready to safely return to their sport or school to minimize any further brain damage.
