On June 19, 2017, 76-year-old Robert Wangemann heard the words that no one wants to hear. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer and in the immediate days that followed, he struggled to drink small amounts of water without being in excruciating pain.

Wendy and Nate Harvey were over the moon to be expecting their first child. With only 7-weeks until the due date, Wendy and Nate were making final preparations for their baby’s arrival.

Pregnant with their first child, 2009 was to be a year of celebration for Laura Rector and her husband Chris. “We got pregnant right away and were so excited,” said Laura.

“I was told that I would be in good hands here in Sheboygan, and it felt good knowing that I wouldn’t have to travel to Milwaukee or somewhere farther away, ” said Brian. “Treatment can make you tired and weak, and it was nice to be so close to home.”

On October 22, 2021, Beth and her husband welcomed their daughter Kennedy, into the world. It will be a date her parents will forever remember as one of celebration of their first born, rather than of heartache.

“It’s scary knowing one day my body might not respond to medications the way it does today. For me though, if that happens, Dr. Wolfert and my nurses will figure it out,” said Patrice.

In the summer of 2022, 92-year-old Jeanne of Sheboygan woke up with shortness of breath and stomach pain that seemed to come out of nowhere.
