GREEN BAY, Wis. — HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center is pleased to announce Leah Bergstrom MSN, RN, BSN as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). The CAO is a new role at HSHS that provides on-site, localized leadership overseeing nursing, operations and all other organizational functions of the hospital.
Leah’s journey with HSHS’s Green Bay ministries began 25 years ago at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital. She joined the hospital in 1999, as a bedside nurse, but quickly advanced into serving as a house supervisor to the director of nursing
departments at both HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center and HSHS St. Vincent Hospital. She most recently served as the Director of Emergency Service, Trauma, SANE, Access One and Central Transport for both HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center and HSHS St. Vincent Hospital. As CAO, Leah is now part of the newly formed team of executive leaders serving the HSHS Wisconsin Market.
“I am proud of the care my team and I have been able to provide, and continually advance, over the past two-plus decades I have been serving our HSHS Green Bay ministries,” said Leah. “My time serving on the front lines of patient care as a nurse, and within various leadership roles for multiple hospital operations, will help our entire team at St. Mary’s provide the best care possible to all of our patients. As proud as I am of what we’ve accomplished so far, I look forward to the future of St. Mary’s and what lies next for our team, as we continue to advance the care and services we can offer our patients.”
Leah received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin.
Leah and her husband are longstanding residents of the Green Bay community and have three teenage boys. Their family enjoys spending their spare time in Door County, boating and traveling.
