Community celebrated 45th Anniversary of ARCH Air Medical

September 04, 2024

HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland hosted a Party on the Pad event on Sept. 3 to celebrate the 45th anniversary of ARCH Air Medical. HSHS Rescue Flight, an advanced critical care air medical service owned and operated by Air Methods, is part of the ARCH Air Medical program.

ARCH’s HSHS Rescue Flight began serving the Southern Illinois Market in 2016, saving countless lives and important minutes in transferring patients in need of specialized care.

Highland Mayor Keven Hemann, members of Highland’s Fire Department and staff members from House of Representative Mike Bost and Representative Mary Miller’s offices joined leaders and colleagues from St. Joseph’s Hospital in celebrating the impact ARCH has had over the Highland area.

“The Party on the Pad was a fun event for community members to meet the extraordinary HSHS Rescue Team and congratulate them on 45 years of excellence in the air medical field,” shared Teresa Cornelius, Chief Administrative Officer, HSHS St. Joseph’s Highland. “Thank you to everyone who came out to support. We had a fun night of games, great food and the public got to see the rescue helicopter and other emergency response vehicles up close.”
