Welcome New Year's Baby!

HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese proudly welcomed Cal Michael Thompson as the first baby born at the hospital in 2025.
He arrived at exactly 12 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, weighing 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20½ inches long. Cal’s proud parents are Matthew and Haley Thompson of Breese.
In celebration of being the first baby born in 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Cal and his family were presented with a gift basket of baby items from the St. Joseph’s Women and Infants Center and the St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary. The gift basket included a baby quilt, a knitted blanket, stuffed animals, a lotion set and a crib cross. The Breese Lions Club also presented the family with a $100 gift card.
For others expecting in 2025, St. Joseph’s offers a wide range of services for mothers and infants has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care, recognizing their integrated, coordinated, patient-centered care for complicated and uncomplicated pregnancies and births.
