Our breastfeeding consultants offer classes, advice and assistance with problems as well as helpful suggestions for how to continue to nurse your baby after you return to work. Breastfeeding consultant services include:

First Steps Moms Support Group
Becoming a new mom is an amazing experience, but it can come with a lot of questions. If you are looking for answers, support or just want to meet other nursing moms, this group is for you. Babies that attend our group range in age from newborns to one year olds. Breastfeeding consultants will be on hand to answer questions and offer helpful tips. The group is free and offers:
- Mom-to-mom chat time
- A scale for you to weigh your baby
- Breastfeeding help from our consultants

Individual counseling is available during your pregnancy, as well as throughout your hospital stay. If you have questions or concerns after your discharge, please call the 24-hour warmline 217-535-3983 or make an appointment to come in for an outpatient visit.
Our specialists can provide information on the types of breast pumps, rental locations and where they can be purchased. They can also offer strategies on how best to combine breastfeeding, returning to work and pumping. Information is also available about state and federal laws for nursing mothers in the workplace.
