Welcome to the Women & Infants Center at HSHS St. John’s Hospital! In this tour, you will see the facility and review the process of birth, delivery, and postpartum care. We will discuss with you the steps you will take when arriving at the hospital and what to do after you get here. Visiting guidelines will be discussed, as well as, what you will need during your stay. As you near your due date, it is common to have questions and concerns. There will be an opportunity for you to ask those questions.
You will tour our triage area, a labor & delivery room, our antenatal area, and our postpartum unit. We will talk about the average stay for a new mother and her baby while here in the hospital, and what to expect during that stay. The tour will end with talking about the discharge process from the hospital. We would love to see you and show you around!
You may have one support person come with you, but no children are allowed on the unit with you during the tour. Our tour guides are all registered nurses that are very familiar with our unit. Please do not register until you are 20 weeks (5 months) gestation or greater. Registration is required. You will be contacted via email the week prior to the tour date for confirmation on attending and the specific meeting location. Please enter through the lobby. Parking is available in the ramp at 9th & Carpenter Street. Please stop at the information desk and they will assist with directions to the meeting area.
