Women's Health Survival Guide Conference Set for May 8

HSHS St. Francis Hospital will once again be hosting the Women’s Health Survival Guide event, a free, informational conference to discuss women’s health concerns and safety resources with local agencies. The event will be May 8 from 1-5 p.m. in St. Francis Hospital’s auditorium.

“At the Women’s Health Survival Guide event, we will explore a wide range of comprehensive women’s health topics, from birth to end of life care.” said Ronita Rufus, Emergency Department nurse at St. Francis Hospital. “The importance of this event is for women to discover all the resources and programs available to them here in our community.”

Attendees will learn about local resources available to them and discuss topics of:

• Pregnancy
• Breast and Cervical Cancer Screenings
• Addiction and Substance Abuse
• Domestic Violence
• Human Trafficking
• Hospice/Palliative Care 

This conference is also presented by Alzheimer Support Group, Angels’ Cove Residential Maternity Home, Cross Over Ministries and Haven Home of Hope, Eden's Glory, HSHS Hospice, HSHS St. Francis Family Maternity Center, Lighthouse Pregnancy and Health Services, Prairie State Women's Health Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program, St. Francis Way Clinic, and Sister Maira Barry, HSHS Spiritual Care Minister.

There is no charge for attendees, but a donation of a new baby items is encouraged and will benefit Lighthouse Pregnancy and Health Services.
