Orthopedic Center
Saving lives through advanced medicine. Whether you’re preparing for your next big sporting event or simply want to take care of your garden without pain, our skilled orthopedic specialists will help you regain your strength and flexibility.
We offer a full range of medical and surgical joint care, using minimally invasive techniques that can often reduce pain, shorten recovery time and leave minimal scarring.
Advancements in medical technology, surgical techniques and pain management have made it possible for some patients to have hip or knee replacement surgery on an outpatient basis. Same day joint replacement surgery, also known as outpatient joint replacement or ambulatory joint replacement, is an option at HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital. Patients return home on the same day as the surgery, allowing them to recover in the comfort of their own homes.
Patients who are healthy and active with no major or ongoing medical problems are good candidates for outpatient surgery. Your orthopedic surgeon can help you decide if you could be a candidate for outpatient hip or knee replacement surgery.
