Program Structure


Administrative Fellows report directly to CID President and CEO E.J. Kuiper. During the first six months the CID Fellows partner with E.J. Kuiper to get acquainted with the operation and governance of the HSHS Central Illinois Division. CID Fellows attend executive meetings, contribute via project work and partake in divisional initiatives.

Although the CID Fellows continue to meet regularly with Kuiper, the second half of the first year includes structured rotations through key departments. Preceptors are part of the Executive Team and are dedicated to the success of our Administrative Fellows. Rotations provide high-level exposure and hands-on project involvement in the following areas:

  • Operations
  • Strategy
  • People Services
  • Quality
  • Finance

While rotation work often remains at the division level, CID Fellows frequently travel to our division hospitals to lead or assist in hospital initiatives. This unique involvement helps Administrative Fellows identify their specific area of interest.

The second year of the Fellowship gives Fellows in-depth expertise within a specific area of interest. Based on personal interest and the needs of the organization, Fellows identify a focus and work with senior leaders in that area. This opportunity could remain at the division level or be located at one of our four division hospitals.
