E.J. Kuiper, MHA, DPT, FACHE
E.J. began his career in health care in 1991 as a physical therapist in the Netherlands before moving to the United States. He now leads the CID team from the division headquarters in Springfield, Illinois. He joined HSHS in January 2014 after serving as president and CEO of St. Anthony's Health System in Alton, Illinois. Prior to joining St Anthony's, E.J. was chief operating officer of the 400-bed Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida, and was part of the HCA Executive Development Program in Nashville, Tennessee. He received his MHA from Florida Gulf Coast University and a clinical doctorate in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine in Florida. In addition, E.J. is a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives.

Steve Umland, CPA, MBA
Steve oversees the financial, accounting, revenue cycle and other operational aspects of the four hospitals in HSHS’s largest division. Prior to joining HSHS in January 2015, he was the senior vice president of finance at Ohio Health, based in Columbus, Ohio, and the CFO at Ministry Health Care, a Catholic health system located in Wisconsin and Minnesota. He is a CPA and past chapter president of the Healthcare Financial Management Association’s Wisconsin Chapter. Steve has a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.

Becky Puclik, Ed.M., SPHR
Becky is responsible for strategic planning, employment, compensation, benefits, organization and leadership development, employee health services and workers compensation. She joined HSHS Medical Group in 2010 as a people director for HSHS Medical Group, later in 2011 was named chief people officer for the HSHS Medical Group and in August 2014 was named chief people officer for the Division. She obtained her master’s degree in human resources development from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and her bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Illinois Springfield.

Chris Campbell, MBA
Chris is responsible for strategic planning and business development across the CID. This includes establishing strong relationships with local leadership teams and physicians to identify and enhance partnerships and programs that advance the organization’s mission. Chris started his HSHS career in 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, Illinois where he served the CID as director of planning and business development. Prior to HSHS, he served as assistant administrator for Tennova Healthcare in Tennessee, and his experience includes 15 years in operations, strategy and development roles in health care. He holds a master’s of business administration degree from the University of Tennessee and a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Lenoir-Rhyne University in North Carolina.

Amy Bulpitt, JD, MBA
Amy, who also serves as associate general counsel for HSHS, joined the HSHS family in 2010 after working at Hughes and Tenney, L.L.C. where she specialized in health care law. She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in history. She went on to earn her Juris Doctorate and Health Law Certificate from the Health Law Program at St. Louis University School of Law and her Executive MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
