The goal of HSHS Supply Chain Services is to assist all HSHS Ministries and Service Centers in achieving their satisfaction and fiscal stewardship goals by providing procurement and contract expertise and guidance. Our services ensure that all of our facilities get the right products and equipment at the right time and price while, and ultimately providing our patients with the highest quality and most affordable healthcare.
 

Contracts

The Contracting Group at HSHS utilizes exceptionally diligent processes to monitor and measure contract compliance, manage the agreements within the vast portfolio of our group purchasing organization, HealthTrust (HPG), and collaborate with our clinical colleagues to develop standardized formularies that can be adopted across all of HSHS to improve the quality of care.
 

Procurement

The Procurement Group provides purchasing services for St. John’s Hospital in Springfield and St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur. The group also maintains a centralized item master for hospitals accessing our software databases, and standardizes the data for the item master to include the product description, vendor product number, unit of purchase, and contract price. Additionally, we also provide assistance to our colleagues and suppliers with questions related to purchasing and accounts payable.
 

Pharmacy

The Pharmacy Services Group is responsible for all aspects of pharmaceutical contracting and clinical support activities for its member facilities. Our team combines cutting edge, outside-the-box thinking with a portfolio of industry-leading pharmaceutical contracts to support each local ministry.
 

Clinical Resource Management

The Clinical Resource Management Group works alongside clinician and supply chain leads throughout HSHS to provide oversight and direction in reviewing, implementing, and monitoring the group purchasing organization contracts. These crucial activities involve the conversions of products’ UOM to improve software compatibility and fulfill internal product requests from individual facilities.
 

Capital Equipment

The Capital Equipment Group evaluates all capital equipment quotes for standardization opportunities, and negotiates the final pricing of this equipment. We also utilize the latest supply chain trends by leveraging the system’s size, and coordinating all hospital purchases into bulk buy opportunities for similar equipment and manufacturer purchases.
 

FANS/EVS Contracts and Sustainability

The FANS/EVS Contracts and Sustainability Group oversees the day-to-day operations of patient, public, and environmental cleaning services of each HSHS facility to ensure our patients and colleagues are provided with only the most pristine environments. Additionally, our group administers the sustainable environment initiatives at each local ministry across the system to ensure our Franciscan value of reverence for the earth is carried out.
